Happy New Year!

We thought we’d bring some new energy to 2021 by completely tearing our house apart and getting our carpets cleaned. The cleaners were scheduled for December 30th, so we pulled everything out of bedrooms and gave the walls and baseboards a good scrub. In order to allow the carpets time to dry we didn’t want to walk on them so we used Elliott’s points and got a hotel up in the Woodlands. We stayed at the Marriott along the waterway and it was beautiful. There ended up being a storm that night which was unfortunate because we weren’t able to walk down the waterway and enjoy the whole scene up there. We ordered Shake Shack from Uber Eats and watched Hook all snuggled up in our beds. It was a perfect evening.

Once we returned home we got to work putting bedrooms back together then later that night celebrated the new year!

It’s become tradition for us to do taste tests with the kids blindfolded. We did different flavored oreo’s and ice drinks. We ordered Buffalo Wild Wings and watched Lord of the Rings. Our kids hadn’t ever seen it, but they weren’t all that into it.

At midnight, here in Texas it becomes like a war zone with firecrackers exploding into the sky at every angle. It’s pretty cool, it feels like we get our own personal firework show. We sure hope that this year isn’t as crazy as last! Hopefully we got get this virus under control and life can get back to normal.

Other things that happened in January:

We got a new bed! This has been a long time coming. Honestly, we should have just bit the bullet a long time ago but there are always other things of more importance to spend money on and we didn't want to put it on the credit card. We got a stimulus check from the government to help stimulate the economy after this awful year and decided we were just going to put it toward a new mattress and bed. We definitely could have paid off some debt with it, but it feels really really good to have a mattress that's not 10+ years old and on the floor. We finally don't look like we're living like poor college kids.
This was after the mattress was delivered
And finally the bed. Good grief, it is such a difference. Not only does it look a million times better but it is so darn comfortable. We love it and have zero regrets.
Audrey had been keeping up with sewing and will make a little project here and there
Melanie trying out her easy bake oven she got for Christmas

Being silly during school.
Still homeschooling! I need to get more pictures of Brandon but he doesn't love his picture taken.

Audrey 18 Month Pictures

http://addiewhitephotography.blogspot.com/ Take a look at addie's blog she has more pictures posted! Addie just took Audrey's 18 months pictures, and I can't get over how amazing they are. These are just a sneak peek. I have to go look at the rest later. These pictures seemed to download just fine. I did upload my pictures to photobucket, but how do I get them onto the blog, Lindsey?! Help me, I'm kinda retarded :) Anyways enjoy the pictures!

Summer Movies

We've been having a great time going to the Summer Movie Fun at Harkins. It's super cheap and a nice way to get out of the house to do something. I didn't know what to expect with my kids, but it has worked out perfectly. Other than Audrey having to go potty 3 times EVERY movie she sits really well through them. Brandon normally takes his nap and it's a very enjoyable time.
