Disneyland

I've been planning this trip since JANUARY. Yes, I said January :) The reason for that is because 1.) we don't have a whole lot of money to spare so it took a long while to research and figure out where the good deals are 2.) Decide where we wanted to save and where we wanted to splurge 3.) How to do a 6 hour car ride and Disneyland with 2 little nippers. I know Disneyland very well, but this was my first experience creating a trip that basically revolved around a 2 year old. So this post will be long and boring to most :) But, for those planning a trip with small kids might find it helpful and I'll enjoy reading it later on in life. Time to Go This is all personal preference, but in my opinion nothing is more magical than Christmas time at Disneyland, especially when it's nighttime. The weather is perfect, the crowds are minimal and I love the Christmas decorations and lights. However, the farther it gets into December the more crowded Disneyland becomes. We decided to...

Thanksgiving- Petersen Style

We woke up around 6:30 this morning to make sure that our potatoes turned out. Last year they turned out really soupy and we had to make a run to the store. We weren't sure what to expect this time so we wanted to get started early. This year we had an extra helper which was fun. She pulled all the potatoes out Pete cleaned I peeled and chopped We boiled and mashed. They turned out TOO thick this year, so we had to add some milk, but they were just as delicious as ever. I skipped the picture of the butter, sour cream, and cream cheese we added! We then played some Thanksgiving games Watched Alice and Wonderland, Audrey's very favorite movie Made chocolate pie Which led to a bath Time for Granny Jules Dallas preparing the delicious ham Dad watching over the rolls Jackson was sick so Andrew came alone this year. My mother thinks she's a Disney Princess apparently Juliet preparing the turkey Helen looking beautiful with Brandon The Thanksgiving spread Enjoyin...

The Park

My first Sunday in this ward I noticed there was a girl I went to high school with, it was nice to see a familiar face. Hilary and I had been planning a trip to the park for months, but something always came up. Like the time my entire family got sick and she brought over tons of groceries, who does that?! She's pretty awesome. Anyways, we finally met up. Thank goodness too because her daughter taught Audrey how to pee in the "wilderness" so we didn't have to walk all the way home and back :)

6 months?... REALLY?!

How is my baby already 6 months... actually he will be 7 months in 4 days, so weird. I feel like I don't do enough posts about him, but it's only because he doesn't do much. I swear I love him just as much! Audrey and I took him to the doc for his check up and shots. He's in the 45% for height and weight, but get this: his head is in the 95th percentile. This kid is a GENIUS! :) He is such a happy boy. We are working on sleeping through the night, he wakes up about 2 times every night. His first word or babble was dada. His dada LOVES it. He is crawling all over place. I feel like I'm constantly putting my finger in his mouth to see what his latest find is. Even though life is crazy and sometimes overwhelming with 2 kiddos this young, I sure do love them and wouldn't trade my life for anything!

A Few Favorite Things

Making Thanksgiving crafts. Getting Brandon to laugh Drinking Egg Nog or Egg Dog as she likes to call it Playing with her cousin Isabel... They look like they kinda hate each other here, but I promise they love each other Riding her bike. She would do this all day every day if she could!

Say Cheese!

Nowadays when I ask Audrey to smile, I don't know what to expect but it's normally something along these lines.

Making Friends

There is a cute little girl Audrey's age that lives across the street from us and it's been so nice. Our street is amazing, every day once the kids get home from school everyone is out riding bikes, or playing games while the moms chat. We have loved this neighborhood At Audrey's dance class there is a little girl Brandon's age and he loves her :) I have to restrain him from trampling all over her. It's pretty cute.
