Little Update

I've been trying really really REALLY hard to update this blog and get all our pictures up, but it won't upload groups of pictures and it's very picky about the pictures it will upload and it's just driving me NUTS! Addie's pictures load up just fine, so I'll update through her pics :)

Little Brandon made his way into the world on April 24th at 12:05am. We went to the hospital to be induced April 22nd at 10pm and it took A LONG time to finally get him here.
He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 22 inches long. He's been such a good little guy. Our first experience of being parents was somewhat of a nightmare because Audrey was a rough baby. Brandon is cuddly, sleepy and easy going. He's such a joy and blessing, I love the little guy to pieces.

He has jaundice so we've had to get his blood work done 3 times, it's terrible. It's starting to go away thank heavens. He sleeps pretty well in his basinette, which is a huge blessing. I have such a hard time putting him down when he is sleeping because he's so darn cute I just like to cuddle with him, I know I'm spoiling him and not teaching him to sleep in there but I can't help it!

Our little Miss Audrey is still as sassy and stubborn as ever. I must say, as strong willed as she is and it is very hard and trying at times she is one of the smartest, cutests and funniest girls I know :) Of course I'm bias, but there isn't a day that goes by she doesn't make me laugh. She adores her little brother and I have to constantly watch her to make sure she isn't suffocating him. She is obsessed with The Little Mermaid, but she scratched our DVD so it won't work. Thank heavens for YouTube and the blessed soul who put it on there. Am I participating in illegal activity by watching it on there?... probably.

I've been trying to declutter and normalize our house and lives. I've been teaching music classes Tues Wed and Thurs, all 3 years and it was somewhat stressful. Being very tired and pregnant, having a 2 year old and preparing classes made it so a lot of things got pushed to the side. It's been wonderful being able to get things back to normal and not feeling so overwhelmed. Next week is the recital, which I can't wait for. I just hope everything goes okay.
Getting used to having 2 kids is an adjustment. Thanks heavens he is an easy baby and Audrey is handling things really well.

Pete is working at Everest College and is doing very well there. He is preparing to take the LSAT later this year. Recently we've decided to move out of our house so we can be closer to his work. We bought this house as an investment... but that of course isn't going to work out unless we want to live here for another 10 years. It's an hour commute so for a time he was leaving at 6am and getting back at 8pm. NOT worth it. We plan to move around July if everything goes as planned. It will be nice to be completly moved and settled in.
Things are going really well. Hopefully I can get this blog thing figured out... we'll see!

Happy New Year!

We thought we’d bring some new energy to 2021 by completely tearing our house apart and getting our carpets cleaned. The cleaners were scheduled for December 30th, so we pulled everything out of bedrooms and gave the walls and baseboards a good scrub. In order to allow the carpets time to dry we didn’t want to walk on them so we used Elliott’s points and got a hotel up in the Woodlands. We stayed at the Marriott along the waterway and it was beautiful. There ended up being a storm that night which was unfortunate because we weren’t able to walk down the waterway and enjoy the whole scene up there. We ordered Shake Shack from Uber Eats and watched Hook all snuggled up in our beds. It was a perfect evening.  Once we returned home we got to work putting bedrooms back together then later that night celebrated the new year! It’s become tradition for us to do taste tests with the kids blindfolded. We did different flavored oreo’s and ice drinks. We ordered Buffalo Wild Wings and wa...

Good Morning

Our kids don't sleep in. If they make it past 6:30 it's an extremely rare occasion. The problem with this is that Pete and I are not exactly morning folk. We make goals that say we will be in bed before 10pm, but after a week or so we are back to staying up way to late. Having Netflix is not helping either. We love watching documentaries and could watch them all night long. Every morning looks a little something like this. Our kids full of energy and ready to conquer the day, while Pete and I are wanting to kill ourselves.

December

There are a lot of words that could be used to describe 2020. Unpredictable, scary, death, political insanity, isolation, divisive, racial inequality, quarantine, masks etc. etc. It was really rough for us around June-October when we had no idea whether or not Elliott would have a job. Thankfully we were one of the lucky ones that didn't get furloughed. Financially speaking our biggest hit was that overtime was cut. We had big plans of paying off a lot of debt from law school and going on our first family trip to Disneyworld. Without that overtime we make about $2,000 less a month and it's quite a hit, but we are making it work. We canceled our Disneyworld trip and are living paycheck to paycheck but had Elliott been furloughed for an undermined amount of time I don't know what we would have done. I know there are many families in that situation and I wish we were in a position to offer some assistance instead of treading water. I feel very blessed and fortunate for where w...
