We Had A Party

A Mad Hatter's Tea Party to be exact. My SIL, has a dream to create unique homemade parties in a box. We thought we would take on this adventure, and Audrey's would be the first. Anyone who knows Audrey knows she is basically obsessed with Alice in Wonderland. Since this was for our "business" it's a little above and beyond what I would have normally done for a kids birthday party... but I had fun creating it.... and I think Helen did too... right Helen? :)

It was a lot of fun gathering unique pieces that would work perfectly for the party

This was the hat decorating station. The goal was to actually create mad hatter looking hats but it ended up being a bigger head ache than was intended so Helen came up with these little lovelies.

Aren't these the cutest party hats? You can kinda see the banner I made. It took a long time to make it how I wanted it too, but it finally turned out.

We are so lucky to live across the street from this adorable girl. These two love playing with each other.
I love how my neice, or Audrey's sister if you ask Audrey, stuck a feather out the top of her hat!
This cute little guy also lives on our street. It's so nice for Audrey to have wonderful friends to play with in our neighborhood. I'm 95% sure we live in the best neighborhood ever.

The big party. Audrey had been looking forward to this day for months. She loved being able to pour her tea, or in our case apple juice.
I felt bad that Hilary thought it was at my house and not at my parents so they got there late, but just in time for presents
Everyone got Audrey the perfect thing. Barbie/dress ups/ princess stuff. She had a ball and I was so happy she enjoyed it and also happy it's finally over!

AW! SO way cute! I'm sorry I missed her birthday! I'll bet it was a blast. That little girl kills me with how cute she is! She's SO vibrant and full of life! SO...in response to your comment on my blog, I take my ring in every six months to have it cleaned and inspected. The warranty Ben got when he bought it is...if we take it in every 6 months and have it inspected then they will pay for any problems with it. SO...let's say one of my diamonds fell out...they would replace the diamond for free. As long as we take it in every six months. Cool huh? I love it. SO it's being worked on right now...which means I'm without my ring for a few weeks. Sad. =]

I loved it! I loved helping you out with it. So fun! Still trying to think of ideas for Isabel's birthday.... I don't know if I have enough energy to do it!

Happy New Year!

 We thought we’d bring some new energy to 2021 by completely tearing our house apart and getting our carpets cleaned. The cleaners were scheduled for December 30th, so we pulled everything out of bedrooms and gave the walls and baseboards a good scrub. In order to allow the carpets time to dry we didn’t want to walk on them so we used Elliott’s points and got a hotel up in the Woodlands. We stayed at the Marriott along the waterway and it was beautiful. There ended up being a storm that night which was unfortunate because we weren’t able to walk down the waterway and enjoy the whole scene up there. We ordered Shake Shack from Uber Eats and watched Hook all snuggled up in our beds. It was a perfect evening.  Once we returned home we got to work putting bedrooms back together then later that night celebrated the new year! Good Morning

Our kids don't sleep in. If they make it past 6:30 it's an extremely rare occasion. The problem with this is that Pete and I are not exactly morning folk. We make goals that say we will be in bed before 10pm, but after a week or so we are back to staying up way to late. Having Netflix is not helping either. We love watching documentaries and could watch them all night long. Every morning looks a little something like this. Our kids full of energy and ready to conquer the day, while Pete and I are wanting to kill ourselves.

There are a lot of words that could be used to describe 2020. Unpredictable, scary, death, political insanity, isolation, divisive, racial inequality, quarantine, masks etc. etc. It was really rough for us around June-October when we had no idea whether or not Elliott would have a job. Thankfully we were one of the lucky ones that didn't get furloughed. Financially speaking our biggest hit was that overtime was cut. We had big plans of paying off a lot of debt from law school and going on our first family trip to Disneyworld. Without that overtime we make about $2,000 less a month and it's quite a hit, but we are making it work. We canceled our Disneyworld trip and are living paycheck to paycheck but had Elliott been furloughed for an undermined amount of time I don't know what we would have done. I know there are many families in that situation and I wish we were in a position to offer some assistance instead of treading water. I feel very blessed and fortunate for where w...
