Happiest Place on Earth

It's FINALLY here! I've been waiting for this time of year for months because it's time to get ready for Disneyland! As you can see we've already purchased our tickets.
My family has gone every year around this time probably for the past 5 years. We leave a week from today and as you can see I'm ecstatic. 

Disneyland is magical on it's own, but for the holidays it's indescribable, I challenge you to go to their website and tell me it doesn't inspire you to leave RIGHT NOW. (I'd hyperlink
 Disneyland.com right here but I don't remember how). 

I am fully aware that it is going to be a different experience with Audrey, some may say not worth it but I whole heartily disagree. 
(My parents our devouring an infamous Phillipe's sandwich in LA. This place is ALWAYS apart of our annual Disneyland trip, I am craving on right now!)
First of all my lovely parents will be there and have gladly offered to take Audrey for one whole day. I don't think I'll be able to last a whole day though, because I can't wait to be there with her. I can't wait to see her giggle or scream when she meets the characters, smile at all the colors, dance to the music, and clap when the fireworks go off and when the snow starts to fall. I'm pretty sure she won't sit in her stroller, and that I'll be having to change dirty diapers, take trips back for naps and take time out to feed her but I don't care. I've experience Disneyland for me MANY of times, it's now time to share this place with little Ms. Audrey.
So pretty girl let's get PACKING :)

I am so jealous! I LOVE DL!!!! I seriously have withdrawls from not going as much as I used to before I got married. It's just not a priority for Mike. We've only been 2 times in 6 years! When I was pregnant with Nathan, I would cry at the DL commercials on TV! And it IS FUN with a baby. Miranda was 6 months and Mari was 10 months and they were great. But you are SO lucky to have your parents go with you so you can ride rides too! Have fun!

Happy New Year!

 We thought we’d bring some new energy to 2021 by completely tearing our house apart and getting our carpets cleaned. The cleaners were scheduled for December 30th, so we pulled everything out of bedrooms and gave the walls and baseboards a good scrub. In order to allow the carpets time to dry we didn’t want to walk on them so we used Elliott’s points and got a hotel up in the Woodlands. We stayed at the Marriott along the waterway and it was beautiful. There ended up being a storm that night which was unfortunate because we weren’t able to walk down the waterway and enjoy the whole scene up there. We ordered Shake Shack from Uber Eats and watched Hook all snuggled up in our beds. It was a perfect evening.  Once we returned home we got to work putting bedrooms back together then later that night celebrated the new year! Good Morning

Our kids don't sleep in. If they make it past 6:30 it's an extremely rare occasion. The problem with this is that Pete and I are not exactly morning folk. We make goals that say we will be in bed before 10pm, but after a week or so we are back to staying up way to late. Having Netflix is not helping either. We love watching documentaries and could watch them all night long. Every morning looks a little something like this. Our kids full of energy and ready to conquer the day, while Pete and I are wanting to kill ourselves.

There are a lot of words that could be used to describe 2020. Unpredictable, scary, death, political insanity, isolation, divisive, racial inequality, quarantine, masks etc. etc. It was really rough for us around June-October when we had no idea whether or not Elliott would have a job. Thankfully we were one of the lucky ones that didn't get furloughed. Financially speaking our biggest hit was that overtime was cut. We had big plans of paying off a lot of debt from law school and going on our first family trip to Disneyworld. Without that overtime we make about $2,000 less a month and it's quite a hit, but we are making it work. We canceled our Disneyworld trip and are living paycheck to paycheck but had Elliott been furloughed for an undermined amount of time I don't know what we would have done.
